Dr Griffiths had a thorough training at both King's College Hospital and the Maudsley, where he had the benefit of thirteen years experience in a busy CAMHS setting before working primarily in an Adolescent Inpatient setting for the last fiveteen years, though have continued to see outpatients. During that time he has also worked as a medical advisor for a children's charity and as a consulting psychiatrist for the University of Hertfordshire's student health service. Dr Griffiths has appeared in court as an Expert Witness and a witness after the fact.
In 1991, Dr Griffiths qualified as a psychoanalyst and has maintained an active psychoanalytic practice and involvement with psychotherapy training. He has a particular interest in applying psychodynamic theory as an adjunct to the treatment of adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient settings and is familiar with a wide range of therapies - psychological, behavioural and pharmacological.
As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist he has particular experience in assessing and treating Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Depression, OCD, ADHD, PTSD and "Borderline" presentations, all in a wide context of different types of family and social settings.
